Lieksa Adult Education Centre





Lieksa Adult Education Centre – Lieksan kansalaisopisto – provides a wide range of affordable educational courses for adults. The Centre also carries out a strong cultural and communal task.

During an academic year, up to 1,100 people study at the Centre. Annually the Centre provides approximately 4,300 hours of teaching.

You  can view our courses online on our course website  at https://uusi.opistopalvelut.fi/lieksa or pick up a paper booklet of the courses  at the City's Customer Service Point at Pielisentie 3, in the City Library and on the supermarkets’ notice boards.


The Academic Year 2023-2024 starts on 11 September 2023.


Online registration for the courses starts on our course website on 25 August 2023 at 6 p.m.   


Registration by phone, number 040 104 4106 (in Finnish and English) starts from 28 August 2023 on weekdays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. In addition, you can register at 04010 44108 in English and Russian on 28 August and 29 August from 9 am to 3 pm


You can also register in our office (Kansalaisopiston toimisto) at the address Pielisentie 9–11 (the building of Lieksa Cultural Centre called Kulttuurikeskus) on weekdays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m..

The registration lasts to the first day of the course. You can also register after the course has started if there are vacancies for students left.

Students are accepted to a course in the order of registration.

Permanent employees of the Centre are a principal, an office secretary, a planning teacher, and a physical education teacher. During the year the Centre employs about 50 teachers in different subjects.
