Pielinen museum- The Museum of Lieksa

Pielinen museum is a local museum of the Lieksa district and the second largest open-air museum in Finland. The museum consists of the main building and an extensive outdoor area with more than 70 buildings.

The open-air museum displays farm houses with outbuildings from three centuries, mills, forest worker's log cabins and timber floating machinery, farming implements and tools, storehouses containing vehicles, boats, fishing tackle and firefighting equipment.

The museum is located by the Lieksanjoki river, near the town centre of Lieksa.

 


We are closed on Friday 2.12.2022.

We will be open for visitors on Wednesday 7.12.2022.

Ticket permits visit to the outdoor area and to the inside exhibition area during opening hours.

Guided tours

  • Daily guided tours during summer season 10.30 AM, 1 PM ja 4 PM. Fee 3 €/person. Language fee 5 €/hour.
  • Guided tours for groups 40 €/hour during opening hours. Language fee 5 €/hour.
  • Guided tours for groups 40 €/hour outside opening hours. Language fee 5 €/hour.
  • Lieksa Tourist Guide Association charge by their own rates. Group tours must be reserved in advance.
